Jamie's tips were as follows:
- Make sure buyers ask sellers to provide the home warranty in the transaction.
- If the seller is not providing home warranty, prepare the buyer to pay for it themselves.
- Make sure to properly write the home warranty coverage into the Residential Purchase Agreement AND review the warranty confirmation to verify it was ordered correctly.
- Make sure that the warranty is ordered AND review the HUD-1 Statement to verify that the home warranty was actually paid.
- If the buyer opts to decline the home warranty, have the buyer sign & date the declination of coverage and keep in your file.
- Service is how choices are made…it’s who we are and what we do, not the items we cover and the price we charge, that defines our product.
Next week, winners of the property tour scavenger hunt will be announced. You must be present to win your prize.
