There were 45 agents and affiliates in attendance at the Central Valley Marketing Meeting for Modesto Area Real Estate on Wednesday, June 3, 2009.  Many of the regular members were away attending CAR Legislative Days in Sacramento. The speakers were Ryan Swhela from the committee that is responsible for recommended Neighborhood Compatibility Guidelines.  With him was Steve Mitchell from the City of Modesto who has the responsibility of enforcing the codes and guidelines.  They discussed the reasons for this committee putting together the new guidelines and gave us some examples of homes that were “out of the ordinary” in certain areas.  The residential guidelines are still a work-in-progress and there are commercial guidelines in the works, as well.  Mitchell confirmed that the city is willing to work with architects and homeowners to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to be heard and that the committee is striving to assist in the resolution of any issues.

Lydia Lynaris announced that next week's meeting will begin at 8:15 a.m. due to the speaker's program agenda. The topic will be "Signed, Sold and Sued…How to Stay Out of Court."  This is a timely topic for everyone.

Mark Rossi of State Farm Insurance was the host for this week and provided yet another fabulous breakfast for all including a wonderful blueberry cobbler and pancakes!

Next week, the Central Valley Marketing Meeting will be hosted by All American Mortgage.
