The March 4th, 2009 Central Valley Marketing Meeting had 65 agents and affiliates in attendance.
The guest speaker Wednesday was Jessica Coleman who spoke about the annual Color The Skies Hot Air Balloon Festival charity fund raiser. The primary purpose of Color The Skies, Inc. is to raise awareness and financial support for Children's Hospital Central California. Color The Skies Hot Air Balloon Festival is held in Ripon, California, over Labor Day Weekend annually. Proceeds benefit Children's Hospital Central California. This year it will be September 5th and 6th. This event will feature a pancake breakfast from 5am to 11am, hot air balloon show from 6am to 7:30am, 1 mile and 5k run, Corvette car show, a myriad of children’s activities, entertainment plus more. In 2008, 6,720 children from Stanislaus County and 706 children from San Joaquin County were serviced at Children’s Hospital. Children's Hospital was founded in 1952 by 5 mothers, and has become the largest children's hospital in California. The hospital covers over 45,000 square miles, employs 500 doctors practicing in over 40 pediatric subspecialties and has grown from treating 2,000 patients in 1952, to over 12,000 in 2006, including 63,000 emergency & urgent care visits and 9,000 surgeries.
